Dan Horlock
Tattoo Apprentice
Dan began his apprenticeship at Mystic Workshop in mid-2023 and has been quietly refining his craft ever since. With a natural eye for structure and balance, he leans into dotwork and geometric tattooing — styles that reward patience, precision, and a steady hand. Dan’s tattoos are considered and well-layered, often blending ornamental complexity with subtle detail.
While still early in his career, he’s already showing an instinctive grasp of clean design. He’s also currently exploring a new direction — somewhere between bold, traditional linework and psychedelic influence — and finding joy in where that creative space might lead. Quiet, focused, and always keen to learn, Dan is carving out his own path one tattoo at a time.

“Hey — I’m Dan. I’m still pretty early in my tattooing journey, having started my apprenticeship in mid-2023, but I’ve been loving every step of the process so far. I’m naturally pretty quiet and humble, but when it comes to tattooing, I’ve found something that genuinely excites me. It’s a blend of precision, pattern, and creativity that just clicks.
Right now, I’m building confidence and growing a portfolio of dotwork and geometric work — styles I’ve naturally gravitated toward — while also beginning to explore bold, traditional shapes with a bit of a psychedelic twist. I’m always open to trying new things (as long as they aren’t too wild or realistic), so if you’ve got an idea you’re not sure fits a box, let’s talk.”
What Dan’s Currently Taking On
Dan is actively looking to expand his portfolio in styles like:
Dotwork
Blackwork and ornamental designs
Geometric patterns
Bold linework with a twist
Simplified traditional-style tattoos with a unique angle
He’d also like to take on and try:
Simple realism pieces
Fine line designs
Script and quotes
Pops of colour
Generally larger, braver designs
Dan’s pretty much up for anything other than full colour realism.
Not sure if it fits? Ask anyway. Dan’s happy to chat it over.
